ABOUT THE SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EQUITY PROJECT
The Social Equity and Racial Justice Project’s mission will be to monitor, educate and train black people and people of color disproportionately impacted by cannabis prohibition about the emerging legal N.Y.S. cannabis industry. In addition, the project will advocate for community reinvestment and partner with stakeholders and coalition members to produce an annual report covering N.Y.S.’s progress on cannabis regulations, employment, social equity, and the law. Finally, participants in the Social Equity and Racial Justice Project will be able to develop secure jobs and business opportunities in social equity licensing in the N.Y.S. cannabis industry.
